The Vancouver Whitecaps announced today the 24-year-old Uruguayan Designated Player is in fact heading to Chilean side Colo-Colo.
Rivero, often the whipping boy for pundits and fans, finishes his Vancouver career with 14 goals and four assists in his 52 appearances in all competitions for the 'Caps.
In a statement, Head Coach Carl Robinson thanked him for his contributions and wished him the best of luck.

With the transfer, the 'Caps now have one Designated Player spot and also one international slot open.
The 'Caps can now replace Rivero during the mid-season transfer window, which runs through August 3rd.
As part of the deal the Whitecaps will receive a percentage of any future transfer fees obtained by Colo-Colo.
